US Airways Teams with Philadelphia Flyers
US Airways Group Inc. has signed a sponsorship agreement to become the official airline of the Philadelphia Flyers.

A celebration is planned later this month with the airline's 6,000 Philadelphia-based employees. US Airways is the dominant carrier at Philadelphia International Airport. The Tempe, A.Z. based airline's deal will include promotions and contests for fans and rink-side signage at home games at Wachovia Center. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Philadelphia Airport to Have Cell Phone Lot By Year's End
Philadelphia International Airport will open a cell phone parking lot on its property by the end of the year for motorists to stay while waiting for arriving passengers, a city official said recently. The 150 vehicle lot will be located on the asphalt that once carried State Route 291, making it easily accessible to drivers arriving at the airport from all directions, Rina Cutler, Deputy Mayor for Transportation and Utilities, said.

"The issue has been discussed for many years," Cutler said of the planned lot. "It is time we created a cell phone waiting lot for the safety and convenience of the traveling public." The lot, which will cost an estimated $500,000 to construct, will be paid for out of airport funds, not general tax revenue.

Until the new lot opens, visitors picking up passengers have the option of using PennDOT's Park-n-Ride/Cell Phone parking lot on Bartram Avenue, or short-term parking, which is available at all terminal garages for $3 for up to 30 minutes and $5 for up to one hour.
